Celebrating its 60th anniversary (December 8, 1965 – December 8, 2025), the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA) hosted a prestigious event that captivated the global photography community.

Under the esteemed patronage of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), the competition welcomed submissions across four categories: Open Colour, Open Monochrome, World in Focus, and Portrait.

During the awards ceremony, Tran Thi Thu Dong, President of VAPA, highlighted the event’s growing influence. The 2025 edition saw a remarkable 30% increase in participation compared to the previous year, with 13,236 entries from 1,054 photographers spanning 31 countries and territories.

The submissions were lauded for their exceptional artistic and technical merit, showcasing the diverse creative perspectives of photographers worldwide.

A distinguished jury, comprising experts from Vietnam, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Spain, and Indonesia, selected 663 works by 383 photographers from 22 countries for the final round. In total, 47 awards were presented to talented photographers from Croatia, Taiwan (China), Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Türkiye, and Vietnam.

Dutch photographer Marcel Van Balken emerged as the standout winner, earning the FIAP Blue Ribbon for the most awards. His impressive achievements included one gold medal, one silver medal, one bronze medal, one honorable mention, and six works selected for exhibition.

An exhibition featuring the 47 winning photographs opened on December 5 and will run until December 9, offering a visual feast for photography enthusiasts.
