The ‘Green City’ contest is organized by Tuoi Tre, in partnership with several esteemed organizations, including Signity Vietnam, the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, the local Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Dutch Business Association Vietnam (DBAV). This collaboration underscores the importance and collective effort required to create a sustainable future.

With a diverse range of participants, from students to diplomats and entrepreneurs to engineers, the contest welcomes submissions in the form of essays, research projects, designs, and ideas, all focused on creating an eco-friendly and energy-efficient Ho Chi Minh City.

Submissions should detail initiatives and suggestions for utilizing lighting solutions to reduce emissions and create a greener urban environment. This includes proposals for lighting along routes, in public spaces, and at tourist sites, as well as energy-saving and smart lighting technology implementations. Participants are also encouraged to consider the transition to LED lamps and the use of harmonious lighting designs for symbolic structures.

Requirements for Participation

Participants can be individuals or organizations, and submissions must be in Vietnamese or English.

For the design category, submissions can be in the form of Microsoft PowerPoint files, images, video clips (up to 5 minutes), or graphics. Ensure that lighting system designs for offices, apartments, and houses meet standards and contribute to emission reduction.

In the idea category, essays should be fewer than 1,000 words, and PowerPoint files should include illustrative images. Participants are encouraged to propose designs for lighting systems at famous public structures and tourist sites in Ho Chi Minh City, such as Bach Dang Wharf, Ho Con Rua, and Ba Son Bridge, while considering eco-friendly and energy-saving solutions.
