Early Tuesday morning, the shooting, archery, and badminton teams, having concluded their events at the Paris 2024 Olympics, touched down at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.

The athletes and coaches exited the airport with efficiency and quiet determination.

A small group of representatives from the Vietnam Shooting Federation, the Sports Authority of Vietnam, and the People’s Public Security shooting team were on hand to greet them upon their arrival.

The absence of fans was notable, with only a handful of reporters present to document this moment.

Over the years, Vietnam has amassed a total of five Olympic medals: one gold, three silvers, and a bronze. The nation’s first taste of Olympic glory came in the form of a silver medal won by taekwondo athlete Tran Hieu Ngan at the Sydney 2000 Games. Vietnam’s only gold medal to date was claimed by marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics.
