The highly anticipated competition between Chinese and Finnish pyrotechnic teams finally took place, following their stunning displays that captivated both tourists and locals in Da Nang two weeks prior.

China, renowned for its long history in the fireworks industry, kicked off the competition with an exhilarating and mesmerizing performance that left the audience in awe.

However, their showcase was later hindered by smoke, which interfered with the lighting effects.

The Chinese team’s strength lay in their innovative music, a unique blend of Eastern and Western influences.

In contrast, the Finnish team lit up the night sky over Da Nang City with a dazzling display of 10,000 firecrackers, doubling the amount used by their Chinese counterparts.

They also impressed the audience with their high- and medium-altitude fireworks, as well as their unique underwater fireworks display techniques.

The Finnish team’s exceptional performance secured them first place and a prize of US$20,000 from the organizer. The Chinese team, as the runner-up, received $10,000.
