The Tasty Diplomacy: Vietnamese Embassy in Iran Showcases Cultural Delights

The Embassy's booth at the World Gastronomy Festival, a recent event within the Francophone community in Tehran, proved to be a huge draw for visitors. As part of the Organization Internationale de la Francophonie's activities on July 4th, the booth showcased a tantalizing array of culinary delights, captivating the interest of food enthusiasts and curious passersby alike.

The event was graced by the presence of member countries (France, Vietnam, Lebanon, Senegal, and Switzerland), two observer countries (Argentina and Mexico), and over 300 guests from diplomatic circles and prominent local cultural and artistic figures.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Iran showcased traditional dishes from their homeland, including pho, spring rolls, and banh bot loc (tapioca steamed dumplings filled with pork and shrimp). They also displayed handicrafts and the elegant ao dai.

Vietnam’s booth captivated the attention of festival delegates and guests. Members of the diplomatic corps and Iranian attendees expressed their fascination, lavishing praise on the delicious and unique flavors of Vietnamese cuisine, as well as its beautiful presentation and reflection of simplicity and tradition.

This festival serves as a platform for embassies within the Francophone bloc to strengthen cultural exchanges and mutual understanding.

The active participation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Iran underscores Vietnam’s respect and spirit of responsibility and cooperation within the Francophone Community.
