The classic Vietnamese folktale, known to many, centers on a wealthy landowner and his cunning deception of a young servant. In the story, the landowner promises his servant a chance to marry his daughter if he diligently serves him for three years.

However, the landowner ultimately breaks this promise by offering his daughter’s hand to another. When confronted, the landowner presents an impossible task: find a bamboo tree with 100 joints if you still desire my daughter’s hand. Despite the odds, the servant emerges victorious in the end.
