This year’s event will be a one-night extravaganza, combining the reveal of the MICHELIN Guide restaurant selections with a premium cocktail reception. By live-streaming the event, the organizers aim to engage a broader audience and showcase the vibrant culinary scenes of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Danang. It will be a celebration of the achievements of these culinary communities and an opportunity for them to come together, share ideas, and inspire each other.

The MICHELIN Guide Special Awards, including the MICHELIN Selected, Bib Gourmand, and the coveted MICHELIN Stars, will be announced during the event. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be available on the MICHELIN Guide Asia YouTube channel.

The dining establishments featured in the MICHELIN Guide are evaluated by anonymous inspectors based on five universal criteria: the quality of ingredients, cooking techniques, harmony of flavors, expression of the chef’s personality, and consistency over time and across the menu. These criteria are applied consistently in over 40 destinations worldwide, ensuring a fair and uniform standard of excellence.

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide, believes that the Michelin award will significantly boost Vietnam’s culinary industry. He states, “The Michelin star is like a passport that propels a restaurant onto the global stage, giving chefs the freedom to express their personalities and pursue their dreams. It attracts visitors who stay longer and spend more, benefiting the local tourism industry.”

The Michelin star is a symbol of excellence and a trusted reference for diners worldwide. According to Gwendal Poullennec, the recognition brings higher demand and expectations from guests, driving restaurant owners to continuously improve their service and refine their food quality.
