The Magic of ‘Tò He’: Vietnam’s Winning Traditional Costume Design at Fitness Supermodel World 2024
The traditional costume winner at the Miss & Mister Fitness Supermodel World 2024 wowed audiences and judges alike with a unique and creative design inspired by the iconic Vietnamese 'tò he' toy figurines. The event, which took place in southern Vietnam from May 10 to 20, showcased a stunning display of cultural heritage and innovation through this modern interpretation of a beloved traditional art form.
On Sunday, the national costume competition of the supermodel pageant witnessed a vibrant display of cultural heritage from 34 contestants across the globe. Each participant proudly presented creative ensembles, a reflection of their unique traditions.

Vietnam’s representatives, Tuyet Mai and Thai Bui, showcased the country’s rich culture. Tuyet Mai’s ensemble, crafted by designer Khac Hoang, paid homage to the tò he toy, a cherished symbol of luck and joy. Thai Bui, on the other hand, donned a regal outfit designed by Tuan Hai, embodying resilience and valor, inspired by the ancient Hung Kings of Vietnam.

The pageant also witnessed impressive displays from other countries. Sri Lanka’s design, inspired by King Ravana, clinched the best national costume award in the Mister Fitness Supermodel World 2024 category. Taiwan’s vibrant costume, featuring ceramic and brocade motifs, caught everyone’s eye with its festive colors.

Additionally, the Philippines and Australia secured spots in the top three overall with their sophisticated and culturally rich designs. The pageant also witnessed elegant traditional costumes from Japan and South Korea, showcasing the beauty of their respective heritages.

The final round of the pageant, scheduled for May 18 in Vung Tau City, promises even more stunning displays of cultural heritage and creativity.
