The victory at Dien Bien Phu forced the French colonialists to negotiate and sign the Geneva Accords, which guaranteed the sovereignty and independence of Vietnam. It marked the liberation of North Vietnam and the beginning of the country’s journey toward socialism. The Accords also ensured non-interference in Vietnam’s internal affairs and the withdrawal of French troops, providing a solid foundation for the continued struggle for national liberation and reunification.
