Booking.com’s annual Travel Predictions research revealed that Vietnamese travelers are feeling more alive than ever on their vacations. It takes them out of their routine and allows them to experience their best life. This can range from discovering new and exciting culinary delights to retreating to tranquil natural settings, or even exploring unfamiliar cities.
While the desire to travel is a personal one, Booking.com has analyzed global booking trends to identify the top trending destinations for Vietnamese travelers in 2024.
Bac Lieu
Bac Lieu is an emerging tourist destination in the Southwest region. It is blessed with favorable weather conditions and is a cultural melting pot for three ethnic groups – Kinh, Hoa, and Khmer. This diversity is highlighted through its unique cultural heritage, adding to its charm. In addition to its attractions, Bac Lieu boasts a rich and diverse culinary scene.
The Southwest region has distinct dry and rainy seasons. Each season reveals a different side of Bac Lieu, with its attractions ranging from monuments to gardens. As such, it is a destination that can be visited at any time of the year.

If you plan to visit Bac Lieu, the best time to go is during the 8th lunar month when the longan orchards are in full harvest. You can savor the sweet and juicy longan fruit that is abundant during this time. Additionally, the Ok Om Bok festival, one of the major Khmer festivals, takes place in October according to the lunar calendar.
Bac Lieu is a coastal province in the southernmost part of the Mekong Delta. Currently, there are no direct flights to Bac Lieu. Visitors from far away can choose to fly to Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, or Ca Mau airports and then take a bus to reach Bac Lieu. Those who live nearby have the option to travel by motorbike for a more flexible travel experience.
Hoa Binh
Situated at the gateway of the Northwest region of Vietnam, Hoa Binh Province is a proud custodian of the ancient “Hoabinhian Culture”. This makes it one of the oldest areas in Vietnam. Hoa Binh is nestled in the northwestern part of the country.

Due to its high mountainous topography, Hoa Binh experiences a hot and humid climate with heavy rainfall during the rainy season. The unique combination of mountains and lakes gives Hoa Binh a cool and refreshing mountain climate, which has made it one of the most sought-after destinations in the Northern region. Travelers are drawn to this peaceful land to escape the stresses and strains of urban life. Some tourists have even described it as a haven of tranquility.

Hoa Binh has immense potential for tourism development. The region is home to stunning caves, such as Thac Bo Cave, Hang Ret, and Hoa Tien Cave. The Pu Nooc primitive tropical forest offers a range of adventurous activities, such as mountain climbing, hiking, and hunting. The picturesque Lake is surrounded by bays, islets, and peninsulas that are teeming with diverse flora and fauna. The sparse villages of the Dao, Muong, and Tay ethnic groups add to the beauty of the landscape. Hoa Binh also boasts hot mineral springs and hidden valleys, including the Kim Boi mineral springs and the Mai Chau Valley, which is famous for its rice paddies and stilt houses that have been designed for tourism purposes.
