The Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Singapore recently organized a Mid-Autumn Festival for Vietnamese children living in Laos.
The Mid-Autumn or Full-moon Festival is celebrated annually on September 29th this year, which is the 15th day of the eighth lunar month.
The festival attracted a large number of children and parents from the Vietnamese and Singaporean communities, as well as other foreign communities in Singapore.

Ta Thuy Lien, head of the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Singapore, stated that this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival is a special event commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and 10 years of strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore.
The festival also saw the active participation of local friends from Singapore, Japan, and China, promoting understanding and respect for the diverse cultures of Vietnam.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important annual event for the Vietnamese community in Singapore, aimed at helping children of Vietnamese origin better understand the cultural traditions of Vietnam and encouraging the preservation of language and traditional cultural identity.

Ambassador Mai Phuoc Dung praised the efforts of the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Singapore in organizing a fantastic Mid-Autumn Festival.
Ambassador Mai Phuoc Dung emphasized the importance of organizing events for children, as they are the future of the country.
The Mid-Autumn Festival offers many traditional activities for children, fostering cultural understanding and enjoyment for both children and their parents.

After the fun activities, the children enjoyed a lion dance and a feast.
The festival concluded with a music and dance performance by Vietnamese children and talented actors and singers from the Vietnamese community in Singapore, as well as the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre and the Japanese cultural group HIBIKIYA.
On September 26th, the Association of Vietnamese People in Vientiane also held a Mid-Autumn Festival at Phat Tich pagoda for Vietnamese children living in Laos.
Students of Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese Bilingual School and Ton Ca Kindergarten entertained visitors with performances and a vibrant lion dance.
The organizers also presented 200 scholarships and gifts to Vietnamese children.
