A delegation of Vietnamese artists is set to perform at the upcoming Jeonju International Sori Festival in South Korea. The delegation includes Rcơm Bus, the youngest artist at 21 years old, and Ksor Sep, the oldest artist at 66 years old.
During the festival, the Vietnamese artists will showcase their talent through seven performances, featuring traditional musical instruments such as Gong, the k’ni, ting ning, and t’rung, among others.
This will be the first time that these musical instruments and the folk melodies of Vietnamese ethnic people will be presented on the Korean stage.
The Jeonju International Sori Festival, which has been held since 2001, offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy traditional Korean music as well as music from around the world.
The 22nd edition of the festival will take place from September 15 to September 25 at the Sori Arts Center of Jeollabuk-do and Jeonju hanok village.
This year, the festival will feature 14 delegations from 11 countries, including Australia, Japan, Canada, Poland, and China.
The theme of this year’s festival is “Mutual Growth and Recovery,” aiming to promote harmony between traditional and world music, and to revitalize traditional Korean music and performances.
