Jessi is an American rapper, singer, and entertainer. She was born in New York and later moved to the Republic of Korea (RoK) at the age of 15.

Her debut in the RoK was in 2005, and she was briefly part of the hip hop group Uptown in 2006.

She has had multiple commercially successful solo and collaborative singles, including five entries in the Gaon Digital Chart’s Top 10. Her highest-charting solo single is “Nunu Nana,” and she also topped the chart as part of the Refund Sisters with the single “Don’t Touch Me.”

Jessi is well-known in Korean variety programs and gained mainstream popularity through her participation in the first season of the Mnet hip hop competition show Unpretty Rapstar, where she finished in second place.

In 2015, she released her first solo rap single “Ssenunni,” followed by the rap single “Gucci” from her first mini-album in 2017. In 2021, she released a new digital single titled “What Type of X”.

On Instagram, Jessi has amassed a following of 13.4 million followers.

She will be joining Vietnamese artists, including rapper Đen, Màu nước Band, rapper Pháo, and singer Hoang Dung, for the music gala Happy Bee 13, which will be held in Hanoi on August 31.
