Nguyen Hong Linh, Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, recently declared that the province would provide assistance to the overseas Vietnamese community when they reside and work in other countries. Furthermore, the province would create an environment that would enable expatriates to take part in economic, cultural, and educational activities. This statement was made on April 14 at the ‘Meeting Vietnamese People Abroad’ event.

According to Linh, the province of Dong Nai currently boasts 32,000 overseas Vietnamese living and working in countries and territories across the globe, with nearly 18,000 families having members living abroad.

Moreover, overseas Vietnamese have acted as an invaluable “catalyst” for the success of the Dong Nai’s people-to-people diplomacy during the period of renovation.

Every year, the province organizes a program to support overseas Vietnamese in connecting with localities, providing opportunities for business delegates, entrepreneurs, intellectuals, investors, members of associations, and business clubs of overseas Vietnamese to gain an understanding of the socio-economic development, and to meet and discuss investment cooperation prospects with local leaders.

With the intention of contributing to and supporting the provision of agricultural products to farmers, we are eager to collaborate to transfer agricultural products and a mushroom cultivation model to ethnic minorities in the province, Dr. Le Hoang The, Vice Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Association, declared.

He shared his journey of exporting 100% Vietnamese lingzhi mushrooms (Ganoderma lucidum) to the US market and selling them on the renowned international e-commerce platform, Amazon.
