The 35th Ho Chi Minh Television Cycling Tournament, also known as the HTV Cup, is set to begin by early April. Spanning 25 stages and covering 2,964 kilometers, this cycling event was recently announced at a press briefing on Monday.
This year’s edition, titled “Land, Rivers, and Mountains Create a Strip – Hope for Victory,” is one of Vietnam’s largest cycling tournaments. It promises to be an exciting event, showcasing the stunning scenery of the country and providing an opportunity for cyclists of all skill levels to explore the beauty of Vietnam. From the winding roads of the mountains to the serene rivers, competitors will have the chance to discover the natural wonders of the nation and take part in an unforgettable experience. The race will also be full of camaraderie and competition, as cyclists strive to come out on top and be the winner of this prestigious event. With the support of the government and local communities, the race is sure to be a success and will provide an unforgettable experience for all participants.
The race is set to bring together the country’s most powerful teams, including Ho Chi Minh-Vinama, Loc Troi Group, Dong Thap Domesco Pharmaceuticals, Military Zone 7 Hanoi, Kenda Dong Nai, and Binh Minh Binh Duong Plastics. This event promises to be an exciting competition, bringing together the nation’s elite in an intense battle for the title.
The race will begin at Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi on April 2nd, traverse through the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, and conclude in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30th.
Among these stages, the fourth is set to span 197.4 kilometers from Vinh City in the north-central province of Nghe An to Dong Hoi City in the north-central province of Quang Binh, making it the longest stage of the tourney.
The stages across Gia Lai and Dak Lak’s Buon Ma Thuot City in the Central Highlands region of Vietnam promise to be a highlight of the race. This area is renowned for its stunning landscapes and unique cultural features, making it a prime destination for tourists. The stages taking place in the tranquil and fertile Mekong Delta region are sure to bring joy and exhilaration to cyclists.

Prizes valued up to VND2 billion (US$84,600) in total will be awarded in this competition.
The overall leader of the race, who will don the coveted yellow jersey, will be rewarded with a VND200-million ($8,500) prize, while the cyclists winning the green and red jerseys will be rewarded with a cash prize of VND50 million ($2,110) each.
The victorious team that claims the champion title will be rewarded with a cash prize of VND100 million (approximately US$4,230).
The winner of each stage will receive a prize of VND20 million ($846), with other prizes worth VND5 million ($211), VND3 million ($127), and VND1 million ($42.3). Additionally, they will be presented with a special recognition for their achievement.
The race is designed to promote Vietnam’s stunning destinations and cultural heritage to both local and international tourists.
