The show “Que em chong dich” (or My hometown fights against the pandemic) tells the story of a peaceful countryside battered by the virus. Thanks to the concerted efforts of local medical staff and other frontline forces as well as the promotion of the “5K message”, life in the village gradually returns to normal. Local people continue with production while paying due regard to pandemic prevention and control measures.

According to Meritorious Artist Vo Thuy Duong – co-writer and co-director of the 25-minute show – it is a combination of various types of puppetry, such as water puppetry, rod puppetry, and ground puppetry.

The puppetry show will join a contest launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Department of Performing Arts, to popularize COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

The puppet show, directed by Meritorious Artists Vo Thuy Duong and Le Thu Huyen, drew the participation of famous artists from the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre./.
