THE HANOI TIMES — The grand concert, “The Homeland in Our Hearts,” is set to take place on August 10, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945).

Hosted at My Dinh National Stadium with free entry, the event is anticipated to draw 50,000 attendees in person and reach millions more through national television and digital platforms.

With the theme, “The homeland is not far away – it lives in every heart,” this concert aims to celebrate Vietnam’s historic journey through the power of contemporary music.

During the event’s announcement on August 1, Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, remarked: “The Homeland in Our Hearts is a majestic ode to patriotism, uniting millions of Vietnamese hearts under the red flag with a yellow star.”

He highlighted that within nine minutes of the ticket portal opening on July 30, over 3 million visits were recorded, underscoring the event’s immense appeal and the nation’s deep-rooted patriotism.

Chief Director Dang Le Minh Tri unveiled the stage design, describing it as a “visual masterpiece of national pride” that meets global concert standards.

At its core stands a towering 26-meter V-shaped structure, symbolizing both Vietnam and Victory, positioned at the center of My Dinh Stadium. The concert is divided into four thematic zones: Independence, Freedom, Happiness, and the Red Flag with a Yellow Star, creating a vibrant tribute to Vietnamese identity.

Beyond its striking visuals, music will be the heart of the event, evoking deep emotions. Composer Nguyen Huu Vuong will reimagine iconic Vietnamese songs with modern arrangements, bridging generations and resonating with all audiences.

A pinnacle moment will be when tens of thousands of attendees rise together, facing the national flag at the stadium’s center, and sing the anthem in unison.

“During the concert, the audience will unite in song and illuminate the stadium with flashlights, each individual becoming a heartbeat of the nation,” Tri shared.

Another poignant highlight will feature 68 soldiers from the First Army Officer School, who previously represented Vietnam at Moscow’s Victory Day Parade. Their performance honors the valor of the Vietnamese People’s Army.

The concert unites legendary performers like Tung Duong, emerging artists, and celebrated athletes such as Quang Hai, Anh Vien, and Le Van Cong. Their presence merges sports, culture, and arts in an unprecedented “national concert” at My Dinh.

Concluding the event, an 8-minute fireworks display will light up the F1 racetrack area, featuring 300 high-altitude and 60 low-altitude fireworks, promising a spectacular finale of color and national pride.

Each ticket will feature a handwritten excerpt from Tien Quan Ca, Vietnam’s national anthem, composed by the late Van Cao, offering attendees a cherished patriotic memento. This detail encourages attendees to sing both verses together at the stadium.

Organizers encourage attendees to wear red-and-yellow flag shirts and join in the anthem with pride.

For those unable to attend, the concert will be broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television, as well as local stations.
