Hanoi Gives Out Free Double-Decker Bus Tickets for Holidays

Visitors and locals of Hanoi can take advantage of a week-long holiday to experience a free city tour on double-decker buses.

The quirky Hop-on Hop-off Sightseeing Tour in Hanoi is offering a free experience during the holiday season in order to celebrate Reunification Day and International Workers’ Day from April 29 to May 3.

Visitors to Hanoi can take a tour of the city on three double-decker buses with license numbers 29B19658, 29B19906, and 29B19688. The buses start and end at the left side of the Hanoi Opera House and each City Sightseeing Hop-On Hop-Off tour lasts for 70 minutes, with nine routes available per day.

Travelers can also opt for another double-decker bus with license number 29B-19994, which departs and stops at Vuon hoa 19-8 (or August 19 Flower Garden, near Hanoi Opera House). Each trip lasts approximately 90 minutes, and there are seven trips per day, departing at 8:30am, 10:30am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm and 9pm.

The cost of a double-decker bus is approximately VND200,000 (US$8.5) for a two-hour tour and VND650,000 (US$28) for a 48-hour tour.

The Hanoi Department of Transportation has implemented a division of buses within the city to take visitors to some of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Temple of Literature, the Vietnam Military Museum, Thu Le Park, Hoan Kiem Lake, the Hoa Lo Prison Relic, and the Hanoi Opera House. With this system in place, visitors can easily get to and from these sites with ease.
