THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi is witnessing a remarkable tourism growth spurt in 2025, with an impressive 7.3 million visitors in the first quarter, signifying an 8.7% increase from the previous year.

Even more noteworthy is the significant surge in international arrivals, which reached 1.85 million, representing a substantial 17.4% rise in foreign visitors. This positive momentum is not merely a sign of recovery from the pandemic but also underscores Hanoi’s growing allure as a must-visit destination on the global map.

As Vietnam leaves the pandemic’s shadows behind, Hanoi’s tourism industry is thriving. During the first three months of the year, the city recorded a remarkable tourism revenue of VND29.93 trillion (approximately US$1.25 billion), an 11.3% increase compared to the same period last year.

In the first quarter, Hanoi showcased its cultural prowess through various events, such as the “Connecting Tourist Destinations along the Red River” conference and the promotion of the Quang Phu Cau Craft Village.

The Hanoi Tourism Department has been proactively conducting a range of programs to showcase the city’s unique appeal as a top tourist destination. Their efforts are further bolstered by innovative initiatives, including experiential tourism at heritage sites like Ha Mo in Dan Phuong District, the introduction of a new tourism route, “Nam Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Road,” and community-based tourism in An Phu Commune, My Duc District. Additionally, the city will play host to significant events, including the Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival and the Hanoi Tourism Festival, both taking place in 2025.
