The Vietnamese national football team players will regroup at the beginning of September for their upcoming friendly match against Palestine. The match will be held at Thien Truong Stadium in northern Nam Dinh Province on September 11.

Afterwards, the team will be playing away games against China, Uzbekistan, and South Korea on October 10, 13, and 17 respectively.

Vietnam is currently ranked 95th in the FIFA world rankings, closely followed by Palestine at 96th place. In comparison, China ranks 80th, Uzbekistan 74th, and South Korea significantly higher at 28th.

In June, Vietnam won two friendly matches against Syria and Hong Kong, both with a 1-0 score.

These international friendlies will provide valuable opportunities for players to improve their skills ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying and 2023 AFC Asian Cup campaigns.

During the second AFC qualifying round for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, expected to be played from November 16 to June 11, 2024, Vietnam will be in Group F alongside Iraq, the Philippines, and the winners of the match between Indonesia and Brunei.

In the final round of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, which is set to take place from January 12 to February 10, 2024, the Vietnamese team has been assigned to Group D along with Japan, Indonesia, and Iraq.
