On September 11, the Vietnamese national football team, ranked 95th in the FIFA world rankings, will host Palestine, currently at the 96th position, at Thien Truong Stadium in northern Nam Dinh Province.

This upcoming match is seen as a valuable opportunity for the team to improve their skills, given the comparable global ranking of Palestine.

In June, Vietnam achieved victories in two friendly matches, defeating both Syria and Hong Kong with a 1-0 scoreline.

The players of the Vietnamese national football team are scheduled to regroup at the beginning of next month in preparation for the game.

Looking ahead, Vietnam has been placed in Group F alongside Iraq, the Philippines, and the winners of the match between Indonesia and Brunei for the second AFC qualifying round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be played from November 16, 2022, to June 11, 2024.

Furthermore, in the final round of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, taking place from January 12 to February 10, 2024, the Vietnamese team will compete in Group D against Japan, Indonesia, and Iraq.
