Despite their hopes of securing a Champions League spot, Tottenham Hotspur produced a lackluster performance and suffered a 2-0 defeat to Fulham. Rodrigo Muniz was the hero for the hosts, scoring both goals.

Tottenham forward Son Heung-min expressed his disappointment and frustration after the match, taking responsibility for the team’s poor showing. Son also acknowledged his own missed chance when the score was still level.

“The performance was simply not good enough. We failed to match the effort and commitment that we have shown throughout the season. It’s time for everyone to reflect and take this as a wake-up call,” Son stated.

This defeat was particularly surprising considering Tottenham’s convincing 4-0 victory over Aston Villa in their previous game. Unfortunately, it also marked the end of their record of scoring in every Premier League match this season.

Son did not mince his words, emphasizing the importance of being fully prepared in the competitive Premier League. He recognized both Aston Villa and Fulham as formidable opponents, emphasizing that lack of effort will always be punished.

“This defeat represents a regression for us. We must now regroup and move forward. Our performance today was unacceptable, and I take responsibility for that,” Son admitted.

“As representatives of both the Premier League and Tottenham, we owe it to our fans to perform at our best. Watching this match was extremely disheartening. We let ourselves and our supporters down, and that is truly difficult to accept.”
