The 2023 National Composite Boat Racing Championship, the third edition of the race, was organized on Cai Khe Canal in Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City, through a collaborative effort between the municipal Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Sports Authority of Vietnam.
The competition saw the participation of nearly 70 racers from 14 different units across various provinces and districts, including Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Long An, Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho.
Racers competed over a 600-meter course using a 5.9-meter long composite hull, powered by a 7HP gasoline engine and an AB propeller. The competition was intense and thrilling, with Tran Bao Hieu and Le Van Thai from Phong Dien District in Can Tho securing the first and second positions, earning prizes of VND50 million and VND30 million, respectively.
Do Thanh Nghiem from Thot Not District in Can Tho claimed the third prize and was awarded a cash prize of VND20 million, while Le Minh Bang from Phong Dien District took home the fourth prize. Each prize package included a 7HP Genesis-GS210 gasoline engine, a composite hull, and an AB stainless steel propeller.
