Klopp shocked the soccer community with his announcement that this would be his final season at Anfield. Since taking over in 2015, he has led Liverpool to multiple trophies.

When asked about Klopp’s decision after Manchester City’s 1-0 FA Cup fourth-round win against Tottenham Hotspur, Guardiola expressed his shock and admiration for the Liverpool manager.

“I am a little bit shocked. Klopp is an absolutely incredible manager, and even though I don’t know him closely, I can tell he’s an incredible person.”

“I have a feeling that his departure will also leave a void at Manchester City. Liverpool has been our biggest rival during his tenure.”

“Personally, he has been my biggest rival since his time at Dortmund and my time at Bayern Munich. I will miss him. However, I must admit that knowing we won’t be playing against Liverpool gives me a bit of peace of mind before matches! But I genuinely wish him all the best.”

Guardiola acknowledged the intense title races between Manchester City and Liverpool since both managers took charge and predicted that Klopp will return to the game.

“He might not admit it now, but I believe he will be back. Every manager feels exhausted after many years in the job, and I can completely understand that feeling.’

“I experienced it at Barcelona, so I can relate to Klopp’s decision.”

Klopp cited his diminishing energy for the job as the reason for his departure. Guardiola believes that the Premier League will miss Klopp’s charisma, personality, and the attractive style of play his teams adopt.

“Liverpool’s positive approach and their determination to win every game have always been a pleasure to watch. I wish Klopp all the best.”
