The Ben Tre administration held a press conference on Tuesday to announce the Bepharco Ben Tre Marathon 2023, under the theme of “running for health and the environment.” Organized by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with various units and under the guidance of the Ben Tre People’s Committee, the marathon aims to promote physical activity and create a community of sports enthusiasts. Additionally, it seeks to showcase the culture and landscapes of Ben Tre, attract investment in green tourism development, and protect and enhance the province’s values and those of the southwestern region. The marathon route offers participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere of Ben Tre. By organizing this event, the marathon organizers aim to highlight Ben Tre’s commitment to economic development while preserving its distinct cultural identity. The inaugural edition of the marathon in 2022 drew the participation of over 4,000 athletes, including professionals and amateurs from 20 countries and territories.
