The National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting has announced that starting from December 18, temperatures will significantly drop in the North and North Central regions, particularly in mountainous areas.

Wind direction will change to the northeast, gradually strengthening to level 3, resulting in a drop in temperatures. The lowest temperature will be between 13-16 degrees Celsius, while the highest temperature will range from 22-25 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 25 degrees.
Northeast region: Rainfall is expected during the night and morning hours. Winds will shift to the northeast, gradually intensifying to level 3, reaching levels 4-5 in coastal areas, with gusts up to levels 6-7. The lowest temperature will range from 13-16 degrees Celsius, and can even drop below 12 degrees in mountainous areas. The highest temperature will be between 20-23 degrees Celsius.
Thanh Hoa – Thua Thien Hue: Northern areas will experience rainfall and scattered thunderstorms at night. Winds will blow from the north-west, at levels 2-3. The weather will turn colder starting from the afternoon of December 17. The lowest temperature in the North will range from 16-19 degrees Celsius, while in the South it will be 20-23 degrees. The highest temperature will be between 24-26 degrees Celsius in the North and 26-29 degrees Celsius in the South.
The Central Highlands: Expect rainy weather during the night and sunny skies during the day. Winds will blow from the northeast to the east, at levels 2-3. The lowest temperature will be between 18-21 degrees Celsius, with some areas dropping below 17 degrees. The highest temperature will range from 28-31 degrees Celsius, and can exceed 31 degrees in certain areas.
The Southern region: Rain is expected at night, followed by sunny weather during the day. The lowest temperature will range from 23-26 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature will be between 31-34 degrees Celsius, with some areas reaching above 34 degrees.

Hanoi: Some places will experience rain and scattered thunderstorms during the night and early morning. Winds will shift to the northeast, gradually strengthening to level 3. From December 17, colder temperatures can be expected. Lowest temperature: 15-17 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 20-23 degrees Celsius.
Ho Chi Minh City: According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the weather in the Ho Chi Minh City area will be cloudy, with daytime temperatures reaching up to 35 degrees Celsius and increasing sunshine. No rain is expected during the day or night. The temperature will remain relatively unchanged compared to previous days, fluctuating between 33-35 degrees Celsius.
Da Nang: According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the weather in the Da Nang area will continue to be sunny during the day, with no rain expected at night. However, there will be a slight decrease in temperature. The temperature will fluctuate between 28-29 degrees Celsius, which is 2 degrees lower than the previous day.

Vietnamese expert calls for enhancing community resilience to deal with natural disasters
In October 2020, according to the National General Statistics Office, central Vietnam was hit by four tropical storms with heavy rains and landslides that killed 129 people and damaged more than 111,200 houses.
