According to Nguyen Quang Thieu, President of the Vietnam Writers’ Association, the Poetry Day event will showcase the rich poetic heritage of all 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. It will feature notable works by Vietnamese poets that highlight nature, places, and the diverse people of Vietnam.
In addition, the event aims to promote national unity and celebrate cultural diversity.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the works of renowned poets, participate in contests, and engage in activities that highlight the talent of young emerging poets.
One of the highlights of the event is a poetry night on February 24. The evening will commence with a captivating performance by the Muong ethnic group from Hoa Binh province, featuring the melodious sound of gongs. This will be followed by recitals and performances of works by 16 renowned domestic and international poets.
The event will also showcase the poetic stories and epics of the Tay, Muong, and Thai ethnic groups.
