Vietnamese Football Tournament Held in Kyushu, Japan Begins

On October 1, Kurume University Stadium in Fukuoka, Japan hosted the "FAVIJA KYUSHU CUP 2023" - a football tournament created for the Vietnamese community living in Japan.

Vietnamese Football Tournament in Kyushu (Japan) Kicks Off
“FAVIJA KYUSHU CUP 2023,” a football tournament for the Vietnamese community in Japan took place at Kurume University Stadium, Fukuoka, Japan on October 1, where 16 teams competed for the championship.

This event is a cultural and sports exchange to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. The tournament is organized by the Vietnam-Japan Cultural and Sports Exchange Association (FAVIJA) with the support of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuoka.

A total of 16 amateur football teams, consisting of both Vietnamese and Japanese players, were selected from nearly 30 registered teams to participate in the competition. Hundreds of Vietnamese expatriates and local residents attended the event at the stadium.

FC New Life emerged as the champion of the tournament, with FC New House, FC Nghe An Fukuoka, and FC Kachitai securing the next positions.

Individual awards were presented to Tran Thanh Thien from FC New House as the Top Goal Scorer, Nguyen Quang Phap from FC New Life as the Outstanding Goalkeeper, and Tran Huu Tien from FC New Life as the Best Player.
