Vietnam Weather Outlook (Jan 22): Northern Region Embraces Cold Waves

Vietnam's weather forecast for January 22 predicts a combination of rain and chilly temperatures in Hanoi and the Northern region.

According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the cold wave is currently moving south.

This cold air will affect the Northeast region, and then affect some places in the Northwest and north-central regions. Around January 22, the cold air strengthened and affected other places in the North and North Central, then the Central and South Central regions.

During this cold air wave, the lowest temperature in the North is commonly 7-10 degrees, in the Northern mountainous areas it is 3-6 degrees. The area from Quang Binh to Thua Thien Hue is from 13-16 degrees.

In the Gulf of Tonkin and the northern region of the East Sea, from the evening and night of January 20, the Northeast wind gradually increased to level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7. From January 22, the Northeast wind increased to level 7, gusting to level 8-9, waves were 3.0-5.0m high, and the sea was rough.

Strong winds and large waves at sea are likely to affect ship movements and other activities.

Northwest region: The weather will be cloudy, with light rain in some places and fog in the early morning. From tomorrow afternoon there will be rain and scattered showers. Lowest temperature: 19-21 degrees. Highest temperature: 23-25 degrees.

Northeast region: The weather will be cloudy and rainy in some places, with light fog in the early morning. The night was cold. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds. The lowest temperature is 17-20 degrees, in some mountainous areas it is below 17 degrees. Highest temperature: 22-25 degrees, some places above 25 degrees.

Thanh Hoa – Thua Thien Hue: The weather will be cloudy with early morning fog, and sunny in the afternoon. The night is cold. Lowest temperature: 18-21 degrees. Highest temperature: 25-28 degrees.

Da Nang – Binh Thuan: Cloudy and sunny during the day, with showers at night. The lowest temperature is 19-22 degrees, in the South there are places 22-25 degrees. The highest temperature is 27-30 degrees, in the South there are places above 30 degrees.

The Central Highlands: Cloudy and sunny during the day, with no rain at night. Northeast to east wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature: 17-20 degrees. Highest temperature: 28-31 degrees.

The Southern region: Cloudy and sunny during the day, with no rain at night. Lowest temperature: 23-26 degrees. Highest temperature: 31-34 degrees, some places above 34 degrees.

Hanoi: The weather forecast is predicted to be cloudy and rainy in some places, and early morning fog. From tomorrow afternoon there will be moderate to heavy rain and scattered showers. Lowest temperature: 19-21 degrees. Highest temperature: 23-25 degrees.

Ho Chi Minh City: According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the weather in the Ho Chi Minh City area will be cloudy, with no rain, and the night and early morning will be chilly. The temperature still fluctuates between 33 – 34 degrees, with no new changes compared to the previous day.

Da Nang: According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, today’s weather in the Da Nang area is sunny, cold at night and with scattered light rain. The temperature fluctuates between 27 – 28 degrees, a slight increase of 1 degree compared to the previous day. Common relative humidity is 69 – 75%, cloud density is 44 – 72%.
