Amikam Levy, Chairman of the Israel – Vietnam Friendship Association established on January 22, 2023, mentioned the positive impact of diplomatic ties on tourism cooperation and business opportunities between the two countries.

During Levy’s term as Ambassador from 2001 to 2003, he prioritized the opening of the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel. This effort was realized in 2009. Levy considers this a significant achievement and a testament to the historical similarities and shared aspirations for independence and freedom between Vietnam and Israel.

Levy also remarked on the cultural differences and similarities between Vietnamese and Jewish people, noting their shared values of family, friendship, and mutual understanding.

He acknowledged Vietnam’s remarkable socio-economic achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, particularly in infrastructure development. Despite its smaller size, Israel is known for its innovation and achievements in various fields, and is eager to share its experience with Vietnam.
