THE HANOI TIMES — Vietnam has embarked on the construction of its most ambitious stadium project to date: the 60,000-seat PVF Multipurpose Stadium in Hung Yen Province. Designed to meet FIFA World Cup standards, this state-of-the-art facility is poised to become a national epicenter for sports and cultural events.
Spanning 55,000 square meters, the stadium will surpass Hanoi’s 40,000-seat My Dinh National Stadium, claiming the title of Vietnam’s largest sporting venue.

Strategically located in a prime gateway area with exceptional transport connectivity, the PVF Stadium is part of a sprawling 920,000-square-meter sports and service complex, featuring a 180,000-square-meter parking area.
Drawing inspiration from the AT&T Stadium in the United States and Singapore’s National Stadium, the design incorporates four grandstands and dedicated zones for technical operations, security, broadcasting, media, athletes, VIPs, and dining.
The PVF Stadium introduces three groundbreaking innovations unprecedented in Vietnam:
A fully retractable roof capable of opening or closing automatically within 12 to 20 minutes—a feature reminiscent of the world’s largest stadiums, such as the AT&T Stadium.
The playing surface utilizes modular hybrid grass technology, similar to Wembley Stadium in the UK and Singapore’s National Stadium, blending natural and synthetic turf for enhanced durability, rapid drainage, and simplified maintenance.
An exclusive VIP area elevates the spectator experience with panoramic views, gourmet dining, and private access, ensuring unparalleled comfort and exclusivity.
The stadium will serve as a premier hub for sports, culture, and tourism on both national and regional scales, meeting international standards for prestigious events like the Olympic Games, Asian Games (ASIAD), and the FIFA World Cup.
Backed by the Ministry of Public Security, with Vinhomes JSC as the general contractor, the project underscores Vietnam’s commitment to world-class infrastructure.
Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the PVF Stadium embodies the strategic vision of the Party, State, and General Secretary To Lam in fostering holistic human development and national strength.

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony on October 19, Minister Quang highlighted the stadium’s role as a transformative cultural and sports infrastructure project, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to sustainable and comprehensive sports development.
He described the stadium as a multifunctional complex featuring a main competition field, training areas, a rehabilitation center, service and entertainment zones, and public sports amenities, fostering a healthy environment for all ages and hosting elite sporting events.
The minister also noted that the stadium would inspire public engagement in physical activities, aligning with the national initiative “All people exercise following the example of President Ho Chi Minh” as a daily lifestyle.
Vinhomes Chairman Pham Thieu Hoa pledged unwavering discipline, responsibility, and quality at every construction stage, alongside a commitment to sustainability, environmental protection, landscape preservation, and worker safety throughout the project.
