On March 22, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) held an online discussion with the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (BSFC) regarding future cooperation.
During the talks, Nina Ivanova, the head of BSFC, stated that BSFC was established in July 1926. Its main objective is to promote the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Belarusian people, as well as strengthen friendship and cooperation between Belarus and the peoples of the world.
The Belarus-Vietnam Friendship Association is one of the oldest member organizations of BSFC, established over 60 years ago. The Association consists of veterans, youth, Belarusian students, and Vietnamese students studying in Belarus.
Nina Ivanova requested VUFO to provide documents on Vietnamese culture, history, and literature to disseminate this information to the younger generation of Belarus. She also proposed increasing the exchange programs between youth groups of the two countries.
Phan Anh Son, the president of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, stated that this online conversation was the outcome of a previous meeting between VUFO and Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam, Vladimir Borovikov, two months ago.
According to Son, one of VUFO’s objectives is to enhance people-to-people cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus.
In the future, VUFO plans to organize discussions and share information about the country and people of Belarus. This will help Vietnamese people, especially the younger generation, to have a better understanding of Belarus.
“We highly value people-to-people diplomacy with the Republic of Belarus in general, as well as our relationship with BSFC,” Phan Anh Son emphasized.
The two sides also discussed strengthening exchange and cooperation, such as organizing working groups and business delegations, as well as promoting the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two organizations.
