Data shows that mainland China led the surge in travel interest to the country during the Lunar New Year period from January 25 to February 2, with a remarkable 296% increase in search queries.

Following closely were Taiwan (China) and South Korea, registering significant growth in searches at 123% and 96%, respectively.

Phu Quoc Island emerged as the top destination for international visitors during the Tet holiday, with accommodation searches soaring by 266%.

Additionally, Da Lat, Nha Trang, and Phan Thiet were highly sought-after by foreign travelers, experiencing year-over-year search increases of 167%, 88%, and 89%, respectively, according to Agoda.

Among Vietnamese travelers, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Singapore were the most popular international destinations for the Lunar New Year celebrations.

Agoda’s analysis is based on search data from November 27 to December 21, 2024, for check-ins between January 25 and February 2, 2025.
