The Maldives (No.1) and Bali, Indonesia (No.3) are two of the top three winners, which include well-known tourist destinations. Travel+Leisure, on the other hand, ranks a little-known Vietnamese island off the country’s western coast in the Gulf of Thailand as No.2.

While many beaches in Southeast Asia are developed, Phu Quoc stands out for its serene beauty. This does not, however, imply that tourists must forego luxury accommodations with rooftop infinity pools and suites with private pools.

New World Phu Quoc Resort, for example, a real estate behemoth Sun Group investment, has been named one of the top 100 favorite hotels in the world by the prestigious magazine. It offers guests a peaceful escape with breathtaking ocean views, tropical gardens, and upscale villas from its location on Phu Quoc’s southwestern tip, facing the renowned Kem beach.

The Allure of Phu Quoc Island

The island has become a favorite among visitors thanks to its pleasant climate, which includes warm sunshine all year and a 150-kilometer coastline with breathtaking white sandy beaches.

The island’s popularity is demonstrated by the increase in flight frequency. The number of international flights to the island increased by 186% year-over-year to 1,947 during the first half of the year, with new direct flights operated by Korean Air and Jin Air of the Republic of Korea, as well as StarLux and Tiger Air of Taiwan.

Phu Quoc has also emerged as a bustling resort island, offering a wide range of leisure activities day and night. It is home to well-known resorts such as Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Accor, Rosewood Hotels, and Hilton. Many well-known hotel brands and architects are raising the bar for the island’s hospitality industry by developing a luxurious resort system.

Phu Quoc is home to a variety of entertainment complexes that are rare in the country. Sunset Town is an excellent example. The Kiss Bridge, a CNN-praised landmark and a new selfie hotspot for couples seeking romantic moments against the Vietnamese sunset, the “Kiss of the Sea” multimedia show, and Vietnam’s first seaside night market are all part of the complex.

Phu Quoc is presently the only place in Vietnam that offers visa-free entry for up to 30 days for foreigners. This year’s tourist arrivals are expected to reach 14.6 million people.
