Northern Vietnam is expected to experience a period of moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms from the evening of May 15 through May 16. Some areas may see up to 40-80 mm of rainfall. The North Central region will also be affected, with scattered showers and thunderstorms bringing 20-40 mm of rain, and some locales receiving over 70 mm.

Starting May 17, the Central Highlands and Southern regions can anticipate a continuation of thunderstorms, typically occurring in the afternoon and evening. A level-1 warning for natural disasters, including heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, and hail, is in effect.

Northwest Region: The forecast predicts a mix of clouds and sunshine during the day, giving way to isolated showers and thunderstorms at night. Tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds may accompany these storms. Temperatures will dip to a low of 22-25 degrees Celsius, with some areas in the Northwest falling below 21 degrees. High temperatures are expected to reach 28-31 degrees.

Northeast Region: Similar weather is expected in the Northeast, with cloudy and sunny conditions during the day and isolated showers and thunderstorms at night. The possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds exists during these storms. The low temperature will be 24-27 degrees, with some locales dropping below 24 degrees. High temperatures will mirror the Northwest, peaking at 28-31 degrees.

Thanh Hoa – Thua Thien Hue: This region will experience a mix of clouds and sunshine during the day, followed by scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and overnight. The storms may bring tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds. Temperatures will bottom out at 24-27 degrees and climb to a high of 30-33 degrees, with some areas surpassing 33 degrees.

Da Nang – Binh Thuan: The region’s weather will be characterized by cloudy and sunny skies during the day, giving way to isolated showers and thunderstorms after dark. These storms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds. The mercury will dip to a low of 25-28 degrees and soar to a high of 31-34 degrees.

Central Highlands: Intense heat is expected during the day, with cloudy and hot conditions prevailing. Evening and nighttime thunderstorms are likely in some areas. These storms may be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds. The temperature will bottom out at 22-25 degrees and peak at 31-34 degrees.

Southern Region: The Southern region will see a mix of clouds and sunshine during the day, followed by scattered showers and thunderstorms at night. These storms may bring tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds. The low temperature will be 25-28 degrees, while the high will range from 33-36 degrees, surpassing 36 degrees in some locales.
