The Most Spectacular Locations To Enjoy The Vibrant Summer Blooms In Vietnam

Spring is a lovely season for flowers and trees to bloom and flourish, but some flowers thrive when the summer heat arrives, painting scenes with vibrant and captivating colors. The intense sunlight during the summer months gives the flowers a more brilliant and attractive hue.

In some provinces and cities in Vietnam, phoenix flowers are often planted in long rows along either side of the road, paper flowers are trimmed by people to form a large bush in front of the house, and lotus typically grow in large lakes.

In the summer months of April, May, and June, the lotus field of La Chu Village in Hue, Vietnam is filled with the beautiful pink of the flowers. La Chu Village is an ancient village that dates back to the Tran Dynasty. It still preserves its ancient features such as banyan trees, wells, and a large lotus pond.

There are many lotus fields in the village, and visitors are free to take pictures in most of them without any fee. However, a few spots with bridges crossing over them require payment. Lotus fields are a part of the locals’ lives here; they harvest and plant lotus seeds and flowers when the season arrives.

In Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Thuan, the local farmers grow lotus alongside the rice fields. From April to August, the farming area is divided into two distinct colors: one side is the pink of the lotus flower, the other side is the golden color of ripe rice, creating a beautiful and poetic scene.

Like the people in La Chu, Ninh Phuoc farmers are harvesting lotus commercially. The old lotus is sold to make tea or jam, while the young lotus is packed into bags of fresh lotus seeds.

Lotus are grown and cared for in special areas where people only harvest flowers and stalks, without the use of pesticides or herbicides. These plants have numerous health benefits, such as helping to relax, reduce stress and fatigue, lower cholesterol, reduce blood fat, improve blood pressure stability, and prevent cancer, cardiovascular, and stroke. To make it more convenient for visitors, people at these areas have made filter bags of lotus tea, so that visitors can take them home as gifts for their relatives and families.

Paper flowers are a popular sight in many parts of Vietnam due to their hardiness and simple cultivation. These flowers are often planted at gates for decoration or to bring a splash of color to any garden. At D’ran Pass, close to Cau Dat (Da Lat), there stands a 34-year-old bougainvillea tree with a large canopy. When the flowers bloom, the whole area is painted a beautiful pink. Many visitors come here to take photos with the tree.

The tree is located on the property of the house, so it is important to ask the owner for permission before taking pictures. Alternatively, you can view the tree from the side of the road. When doing so, be sure to look both ways for vehicles to avoid any potential accidents.

Aside from Hai Phong city of red phoenix flowers, these flowers are also favored by people in other provinces and cities to grow on both sides of the road. The blooming of the phoenix flower is a sign of the start of summer, signaling that the school year is coming to an end and a hot summer is on its way with no more homework but late wake-ups, trips to visit family, and summer vacations. It is also a sign of young love, pure and passionate.

If tourists can visit the western part of Vietnam, the beautiful phoenix flowers can be seen blooming along the banks of the river on both sides of National Highway 80 in Lap Vo (Dong Thap) – a great place for flower lovers to take some amazing photographs.
