This is also the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence Day – also known as “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, 50 years of India-Vietnam diplomatic relations, India’s G20 Presidency and International Year of Millets.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of “India Day,” Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga expressed her love for the rich and colorful culture that have made a united India in diversity.
Nguyen Phuong Nga said the event was “a valuable contribution to tighten the friendship and tradition” between the two countries. It gives more impetus to “promote the Vietnam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, contributing to the development of the two countries and meet the interests of the two peoples.

“India Day” is modeled after the traditional Indian festival Kumbh Mela, when the community meets and shares food, cultural exchanges, and handicrafts.
Bringing to Vietnam the image of a country with diverse cultures, the event is an opportunity for the people of the two countries to bond and strengthen friendship.
It also spreads the image of the country and Indian people unite in diversity, opening up new prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking at the event, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya said that “cultural exchange has created a borderless relationship,” especially when Vietnam and India have many cultural similarities. This is an opportunity in the development of people-to-people diplomacy between the two countries. Sharing about the expectations of developing bilateral cooperation, besides scholarship opportunities, Ambassador Sandeep Arya said that India will bring fast-impact projects in 10 provinces and cities of Vietnam to support people in remote areas, strengthen connectivity and promote cooperation between the two countries. |
