Hanoi Students Triumph at 2025 World Young Physicists Olympiad in Indonesia

THE HANOI TIMES — Five Hanoi students triumphed at the 2025 World Young Physicists Olympiad (WYPO) in Bali, Indonesia, clinching three silver and two bronze medals for Vietnam.

The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) announced silver medalists Nguyen Ba Tung Lam (Hanoi Star Primary and Secondary School), Nguyen Khanh Ngoc (Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School), and Do Luong Thuy Duong (Thanh Xuan Secondary School).

Bronze medals were awarded to Hoang Bao Minh and Bui Ngoc Bao Linh, both from Thanh Xuan Secondary School.

These victories underscore Vietnam’s excellence in natural science education and its students’ global competitiveness, inspiring a culture of learning, research, and innovation among youth.

Held from November 6–9, 2025, in Bali, Indonesia, the WYPO attracted participants from Bangladesh, Bolivia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Romania, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

Organized by the Indonesian STEM OCSO Organization, WYPO challenges students to apply physics through hands-on experimentation and problem-solving, setting it apart from the theory-focused International Physics Olympiad (IPhO).

MoET highlighted that Vietnam’s success at WYPO 2025 demonstrates the nation’s robust education system and its effective strategies for fostering gifted students.
