Samy and his girlfriend embarked on a culinary adventure in Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on Vietnam. Their journey took them to the cultural hotspots of Da Nang and Hoi An, where they immersed themselves in the local culture and cuisine.

One of the highlights of their trip was a recent 5-star tourist train experience from Hue to Da Nang. They booked the early morning train, departing Hue at 7:45 a.m. and arriving in Da Nang at 10:35 a.m., ready to explore all that the city had to offer.

The German couple had discovered this unique train journey online and were eager to immerse themselves in the cultural heritage of the region. Arriving at the Hue station, they took their time to enjoy a cup of coffee and soak in the surroundings before their departure.

As the train pulled out of the station, they were guided to their seats by the attentive staff. Samy was impressed by the spaciousness and beauty of the train cars, a comfortable setting for their journey ahead.

One of the most memorable moments for Samy was witnessing singers performing the traditional Hue Royal Court music in a carriage adorned with ancient royal decor. Adjacent to this musical treat was the culinary carriage, offering a variety of Hue specialty cakes, including banh it, banh bot loc, and banh beo, along with a selection of refreshing drinks.

Samy and his partner indulged in a delicious breakfast of banh mi, banh beo, and other local treats before returning to their seats. They were excited to continue their journey, taking in the stunning scenery along the way.

The couple shared that they felt relaxed during their journey, as they had arrived on a weekday when the train was less crowded. This allowed them to fully appreciate the beauty of the passing landscape without feeling cramped or overwhelmed.

One of the surprises during their meal was the introduction to a unique type of banh mi. Instead of the typical wheat flour, this banh mi was made with green banana flour, offering a different twist on a traditional favorite.

Samy was impressed not only by the innovative crust but also by the generous meat filling and fresh vegetables. “I have eaten banh mi many times in Vietnam, but this was a delightful surprise,” he commented, adding that the train even provided a microwave for those who wanted their bread crust crispy and warm.

The couple also enjoyed the taste of banh bot loc and banh beo, with Samy describing the latter as “soft, succulent, and refreshing,” and the former as “fragrant and slightly chewy, with a delightful shrimp flavor.”

As the train made its way through the stunning Vietnamese countryside, Samy and his girlfriend were captivated by the beauty of the Hai Van Pass. They couldn’t help but exclaim “Wow” at the breathtaking views that unfolded before them.

Samy reflected on the unique experience of the train journey, saying, “I loved the feeling of looking out at the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. The scenery was truly impressive, and it’s no wonder this route is considered one of the most beautiful railways in Vietnam.”

Despite the three-hour duration of the trip, Samy and his partner remained comfortable and relaxed thanks to the train’s amenities. The well-designed seats and air conditioning ensured a pleasant journey, and the facing seat arrangement encouraged conversation and camaraderie among the passengers.

During their time aboard, they were treated to breathtaking views of Lang Co Bay, Hai Van Pass, and Tien Sa Beach. The train also made a brief stop at Lang Co station, allowing passengers to capture memorable photos of the stunning location.

With morning and afternoon departures, travelers have the opportunity to witness both the sunrise and sunset over Lang Co Bay, adding a magical touch to their journey. This bay is renowned as one of the most beautiful in Vietnam and the world.

The ‘Central Heritage Connection’ train route, launched in March 2024, is a collaborative effort between Hue and Da Nang to enhance connectivity and promote tourism in the region.

This innovative offering combines transportation and tourism, providing passengers with captivating experiences that showcase the history, culture, and heritage of Central Vietnam.

The train is equipped with air-conditioned carriages and soft seats placed by the windows, ensuring a comfortable and scenic journey for all passengers.

With its picturesque route between Hue and Da Nang, renowned for its beauty, the train offers a unique way to explore Vietnam’s cultural and natural treasures.
