The Da Nang Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Duy Anh Trading Joint Stock Company (IPP Travel Retail), has been entrusted by the city to organize the Routes Asia 2022 Development Forum, scheduled to take place in June 2022.
To promote the recovery of tourism routes to Da Nang, despite the impact of Covid-19, Da Nang International Airport has implemented plans for airport upgrades and investments. These include the completion of the north apron expansion by February 21, 2022, the construction of a new cargo terminal with a capacity of 100,000-150,000 tons per year by 2024, and the completion and operation of the southward expansion of passenger terminal T1 to accommodate 14 million passengers per year by 2025.
Additionally, Da Nang International Airport has implemented supportive policies for airlines opening routes to Da Nang. These include reducing air service unit prices by 10-50% for airlines operating international flights and providing free office rental for airlines.
During a recent tourism-airline cooperation program organized by the Da Nang City Department of Tourism, Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son emphasized the significance of aviation-tourism collaboration in successfully launching international routes and revitalizing the city’s main economic sector.
With the responsibility of ensuring the success of the Routes Asia 2022 Development Forum, the Da Nang City Department of Tourism, in coordination with other sectors, is actively planning and seeking support for the event. Additionally, the department is deploying flight promotion activities to contribute to the city’s socio-economic recovery.
The Routes Asia 2022 Development Forum is scheduled to take place from June 6-8, 2022, and is anticipated to gather more than 500 delegates from 110 airlines and 30 travel agencies. The event is not only a crucial milestone for restarting international aviation exchanges in Da Nang but is also expected to significantly contribute to the city’s socio-economic development over the next three years.
