The publication highlights Da Nang’s rapid transformation, noting its burgeoning dining and nightlife culture that rivals those of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
In a remarkable feat, Da Nang secured 16 new Bib Gourmand listings in the Michelin Guide this year, including the acclaimed Indian restaurant Rang. The city also proudly earned its first Michelin star at La Maison 1888, a French fine-dining establishment, as recommended by Time Out.
Leading the list is Sumba Island, an Indonesian paradise just a 50-minute flight from Bali, recently spotlighted by Forbes as a must-visit destination.
Siargao Island in the Philippines claims the second spot, celebrated for its unique teardrop shape and world-class surfing. New flight routes from Manila and Cebu have made this island even more accessible to eager travelers.
Other notable mentions include Taiwan, Malaysia’s Ipoh, Japan’s Osaka, Thailand’s Nan, and China’s Lijiang.
Da Nang’s tourism flourished in 2024, hosting 154 MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events with over 53,000 attendees. Cruise tourism saw a significant boost, particularly from Europe, America, China, and Australia, with 27 cruises bringing in 32,550 visitors.
Accommodation facilities in Da Nang welcomed more than 10.8 million guests, a 32.8% increase from 2023. Foreign visitors accounted for 4.1 million, marking a 36.3% rise.
