Captivating the US: PM Modi’s Enthralled Indian Diaspora Welcomes Him with a Cultural Extravaganza of ‘Garba’ and ‘Mithila Painting’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rapturous welcome as he touched down in Wilmington, Delaware, on Saturday, with members of the Indian diaspora eagerly awaiting his arrival at Hotel duPont, where they performed a vibrant 'Garba' to honor his presence.

The Indian diaspora in the US expressed their excitement and enthusiasm at the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit.

A member of the Indian community shared his anticipation, stating, “I am excited to meet Prime Minister Modi; he is a remarkable leader.” He further wished the Prime minister a long life and prosperity.

“We are thrilled to welcome Prime Minister Modi, a true visionary leader. He has been one of the greatest prime ministers since our independence, and we, as a community, are incredibly proud of his achievements,” expressed the diaspora member to ANI.

The atmosphere was filled with joy and patriotism as another member of the Indian Diaspora sang the beloved song ‘Saare Jahaan se Accha’ upon Prime Minister Modi’s arrival at Hotel duPont in Wilmington, Delaware.

“Prime Minister Modi has ushered in a golden age for India, and we are forever grateful. This is a historic and cherished moment for all of us,” another community member added.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi landed in Philadelphia, USA, to a warm reception with chants of ‘Modi, Modi’. During his visit, he will hold a bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden and participate in the highly anticipated Quad Summit.

A fortunate member of the Indian community had the honor of meeting Prime Minister Modi and sharing her artwork with him. She recounted, “I had the privilege of meeting the Prime Minister today, and it was a wonderful experience. He immediately inquired about my background when he saw my painting. I proudly told him that I am from the Mithila region.”

“My painting depicts the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which translates to ‘the world is one family.’ It was an honor to share this theme with the Prime Minister,” she further explained to ANI.

Prime Minister Modi also left his mark by signing the second edition of a comprehensive book on the Gupta Empire, first launched in 2018.

An excited diaspora member shared, “It was an honor to have Prime Minister Modi sign the second edition of this detailed book on the Gupta Empire. His support for our cultural heritage is deeply appreciated.”

The Indian community in Delaware was buzzing with excitement as they eagerly awaited Prime Minister Modi’s arrival. Their enthusiasm was palpable, with chants of “Modi, Modi” filling the air as they gathered outside the hotel.

Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the significant contributions of the Indian diaspora in the United States, highlighting their positive impact across various sectors. He commended their achievements and expressed his delight in interacting with them.

In a social media post, Prime Minister Modi shared, “The Indian community has truly excelled in the USA, making a positive impact in diverse fields. It’s always a pleasure to connect with them and hear their stories.”

He further added, “On Sunday, September 22nd, at 9:30 PM India time, I will be addressing the @ModiandUS program in New York City. Let’s come together to celebrate the strong bonds between our two great nations!”

At the Quad Summit, Prime Minister Modi will join his counterparts, US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime minister Fumio Kishida, to discuss regional security and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. The previous Quad Leaders’ Summit was held in Hiroshima, Japan, on May 20, 2023.

Following his visit to Delaware, Prime Minister Modi will travel to New York. On September 22, he will attend a diaspora event and participate in a roundtable discussion with CEOs. On September 23, he will address the Summit of the Future at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. (ANI)
