The 24th ASEAN Army Rifle Meet (AARM – 24) commenced on November 19, 2014, and concluded on November 28 at the Mieu Mon National Training Centre in Hanoi. This marked the first time Vietnam hosted the prestigious competition, offering a unique opportunity to showcase the Vietnam People’s Army’s illustrious traditions to participating nations.

AARM – 24 took place during a pivotal period as ASEAN approached the final year (2015) of its community-building process. The event held immense significance, serving as a catalyst for fostering collaboration among ASEAN member countries’ armed forces, particularly the contingents involved in the competition. It also facilitated the exchange of combat experiences, skills, and tactics among marksmen from across the region.

The 24th ASEAN Army Rifle Meet attracted 10 contingents from ASEAN member nations, including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, and the host country, Vietnam. Competitors vied for honors in five categories: rifle, machine gun, carbine, men’s pistol, and women’s pistol. Vietnam’s contingent fielded 31 athletes, participating in all five categories across 32 matches.

The competition concluded on November 28, 2014.
