Tunnels on Thang Long Avenue submerged after heavy downpours

With Typhoon Wipha being the third storm of the year to hit the nation, Hanoi suffered from a prolonged period of heavy rain, leaving many tunnels on Thang Long Avenue flooded with commuters forced to wade through floodwater on their way to work.

Massive downpours cause severe flooding to hit Thang Long Avenue on August 4.

Workers are on duty in order to help reduce the water levels in the tunnels, with vehicles being banned from the area.

The route through the Bao Son Paradise entertainment complex quickly become flooded with water being measured at approximately 60-70cm on August 4.
