Military Hardware Convoy Enters Hanoi City Centre Under Cover of Night for Parade
On the evening of August 19, a convoy of military hardware was transported from Hanoi’s Phuc Son commune to the city center in preparation for the A80 military parade, marking the 80th National Day celebration on September 2.
The convoy includes tanks and armoured vehicles, command vehicles, radar systems, missile launchers, self-propelled artillery, UAVs, and other modern equipment.
At around 8:40 p.m., preparations at the National Military Training Centre No. 4 are completed, with the vehicles ready to move toward the central city at 9:00 p.m.
The hardware is organised into formations of tracked vehicles, wheeled vehicles, and equipment from the Navy and the Air Defence–Air Force.
The convoy moves along Route 1 from National Highway 21A to Thang Long Boulevard, then Le Quang Dao Str. – Le Duc Tho Rd. – Ho Tung Mau Rd. – Pham Van Dong Rd. – Vo Chi Cong Rd. – Au Co Rd. – Nghi Tam Rd. – Cua Bac Str. – Nguyen Tri Phuong Str.
Other vehicles moves along Route 2 through the F1 racetrack area near My Dinh Stadium to the city centre.
Vehicles move in waves, each only a few minutes apart. Many are covered with tarpaulins and transported on specialized carriers for safety.
These are the military hardware that have taken part in rehearsal sessions at the National Military Training Centre No. 4 in recent times.
Many of these were previously showcased at the International Defence Expo held at the end of 2024.
The weather is fairly cool and without rain, creating favourable conditions for the convoy to move safely to the assembly area.
These military hardware are scheduled to take part in a pre-rehearsal and a full rehearsal before officially joining the parade marking the 80th National Day on September 2 at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi.
