
The festival was held to mark the 719th anniversary of the death of General Tran Hung Dao, also known as Tran Quoc Tuan.

In attendance at the event alongside Hai Duong province’s local authorities were Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, and Voice of Vietnam President Nguyen The Ky.

A large parade which saw the participation of thousands of fishermen and martial artists was the highlight of the festival with approximately 50 boats sailing on the Luc Dau river.

The event aims to reenact the three struggles of the Tran dynasty’s army against the Mongolian invaders and honour the contributions made by General Tran Hung Dao.
