As the owner of a store selling eco-friendly organic products, Pham Thi Kim Hang, a 25-year-old woman living in Tan Binh District, has always prioritized taking advantage of reusable products in order to contribute to environmental protection.
Hang was inspired to recycle plastic waste from online shopping, which she said had soared during the nationwide social distancing period in April.
“Why not try recycling [plastic packaging materials] into useful items for everyone?” Hang said.

The woman sought throwaway pillow covers and curtains from hotels and collected used plastic from households.
After a short time looking for ideas and a method to weave the materials she had collected, Hang managed to create plastic-and-cloth woven bags that come in various colors and shapes.
The bags are not only in fashion but also long-lasting, according to Hang.
She plans to use the entire profit from selling the recycled bags for charity.
Currently, Hang is calling for people to come to her store — Limart on Ton That Thiep Street in District 1 — to exchange used plastic for bamboo straws or paper pens.
