The two teams previously had their first face-off in the fourth game, with the national team winning the game at 74-83.
In Game 8, the Danang Dragons were determined to avenge their loss. Akeem Scott of the Da Nang-based team scored the opening shot with a three-pointer.
However, Tam Dinh of the Vietnamese national basketball team quickly responded with two three-point field goals in a row.
The national team eventually failed to keep up with the Danang Dragons as most of their attacks were ineffective.

With his experience of competing in many countries, Scott continued to shine, helping the Danang Dragons lead the first quarter 29-18.
Coach Kevin Yurkus of the national team had to switch to a defensive strategy in the second match and directed his players to focus on limiting Scott’s space.
The tactic proved ineffective as it allowed Trieu Han Minh, To Quang Trung, and Michael Soy to score three consecutive points for the Danang Dragons.
The national team managed to boost their pace but was still led 34-48 at the end of the match.
The Danang Dragons had a disadvantage in the third quarter when Chris Carter was in foul trouble and had to be replaced.

Tam Dinh, Justin Young, and Phu Vinh of the national team took the chance to carry out many impressive attacks.
However, Scott did not show any signs of slowing down.
With the assistance from To Quang Trung and Trieu Han Minh, he was able to keep the Danang Dragons in the lead at the end of the match with a score of 68-55.
The national team appeared to lose their fire in the last quarter, allowing the Danang Dragons to win the game at 97-71.
The defeat showed that the play style of the Vietnamese national basketball team still lacks stability and flexibility, thus coach Yurkus may have a lot to work on to steer the team to victory in the future.
With 25 points and 11 assists, Scott deserved the MVP title of the game.
