Addressing the event, Ambassador Le Thi Hong Van, head of the Vietnamese delegation to UNESCO, emphasised the importance of preserving traditional Vietnamese cultural heritages. She highlighted that the heritages have been kept strong and renowned across the world through a number of tangible and intangible cultural heritage certificates granted by UNESCO. Van remarked that these certificates have been a testament to the country’s effort to maintain its cultural identity and promote it to the global community.
Claudine de Kerdaniel, a member of the permanent delegation of Saint Vincent & the Grenadines to UNESCO, expressed her astonishment at the remarkable performances by Vietnamese artists, especially the captivating water puppetry shows.
She praised the talent of the local artists highly, extolling the range of traditional beautiful costumes, the stage setting, as well as their meticulous preparations for the shows.
At the event, the participating delegates delighted in some of Vietnam’s exquisite and varied culinary delights.
“Japanese Culture Festival” opens in Da Nang city

The water puppetry guild in Dao Thuc Village, 10km from Dong Anh (Hanoi), is well-known both at home and abroad. Over the years, it has performed in several foreign countries such as China, the Netherlands, Thailand and Japan.
