The event is being held to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Vietnam-Germany diplomatic ties (1975-2020). Organized by Huong Viet magazine, well-known for providing online news in Vietnamese in Germany, in collaboration with the city’s exhibition center.
The five-day fair showcases products and traditional cuisine from Vietnam, including famous literature works translated into German. Additionally, the event features a collection of photographs capturing the landscapes and people of Vietnam, taken by photographers from both countries.
Pham Khanh Nam, Editor-in-Chief of Huong Viet, stated that the objective of the event is to promote Vietnam’s landscape, people, culture, and cuisine to German and international friends, while also strengthening the connections among the Vietnamese community in Augsburg and its surrounding areas.
Nguyen Tuan Minh, Vietnamese Defence Attache to Germany, highlighted the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Germany, which is expected to further develop following the signing of a strategic action plan for 2019-2021.
Reiner Erben, a member of the Augsburg city council, expressed how the event has contributed to a better understanding of the cultures of both countries among the local population. He also emphasized the significant role played by the Vietnamese community in Augsburg’s local development.
